Trying some yummy CoCo's Curry on her first full day! She said it was good, but probably not her favorite.
There was a beautiful patch of sunflowers near our house. One day I asked her to go stand near them so I could take a few photos. I loved her smile in this one.
After a day of harvesting rice, we stopped at the Ureshino public foot bath. It's like a little spa for your feetsies.
On the 4th day of her visit we encountered one of the largest typhoons to Sasebo in the last 5 years. We were a little scared during the night, but once it got light out, we had a little fun with it. You can't see the crazy wind in this photo, but the funny look on our faces should give you an idea!
We went swimming in this beautiful lagoon near the waterfall. What a great experience!
A hard day of harvesting rice with the Japanese locals. Shelby was definitely a trooper through this day!
After harvesting the rice, they cooked up a big pot of it for all the workers. Pretty cool eating rice straight from the source.
Shelby has had the opportunity to work with me at the Huis Ten Bosch theme park near Sasebo. Here we are English coaches and help Japanese students practice their English.
We went to Hasami to take in the sights of the beautiful step terrace rice paddies and to view the scarecrows all ready for the scarecrow festival. Definitely one of the most beautiful places near Sasebo.
